Jamia Millia annual convocation ceremony to be held tomorrow

New Delhi: Jamia Millia Islamia is going to hold its annual convocation ceremony to distribute degrees among the students who have by now completed their courses and to felicitate those who performed extraordinarily during their academic session. The convocation will be held at the Lawns of Dr. M A Ansari Auditorium of the University at 3.00 PM.

Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, Tajendra Khanna will be the Chief Guest for the ceremony while Mr. Najeeb Jung, the Vice-Chancellor of Jamia will preside over the convocation. This year for the academic session 2009-10, a total of 4294 Degrees/Diplomas will be awarded to students who have successfully completed their Post-graduation, Graduation or Diploma from different Faculties/Departments/Centres of the University.

The University will be handing out 155 Gold Medals to the toppers of different courses. The ceremony will also award 279 Research Scholars with their PHD Degrees.
