Associated Press of Pakistan said the president made the appointment after consultation Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly, Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan.

The National Accountability Bureau is Pakistan’s apex anti-corruption organisation. It is charged with the responsibility of elimination of corruption through a holistic approach of awareness, prevention and enforcement.

A media report had said that the post had been lying vacant for several months. The NAB became dysfunctional July 20 on a Supreme Court order. The court said the body could not function in the absence of a chairman.
