New Delhi : A special court here Thursday paved the way for the trial of a suspended official of the petroleum and natural gas ministry and two others in a corruption case related to the sale of adulterated products.
Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Special Judge Rakesh Syal framed corruption and other charges against Uday Shanker, suspended joint director (investigation), anti-adulteration cell.
The court also framed charges against his associate Sanjeev Kumar and businessman S.K. Gupta.
The court has fixed Sep 22 for the recording of evidence. The three accused were arrested by the CBI May 22, 2004.
