AFMI doing relief work in Assam

New Delhi: Along with many other civil groups, American Federation of Muslims of Indian Origin (AFMI) is also doing relief work in Assam which witnessed exodus of lakhs of people following the communal violence between Bodos and Bengali speaking Muslims in Kokrajhar and other districts last month.

AFMI is distributing relief materials among the displaced population in Assam. “Even as some of the internally displaced persons have left the camps they will face a precarious future ahead as their homes and means of livelihood destroyed,” AFMI said.



AFMI, in coordination with local NGOs, is planning to rebuild the lives of the victims by helping them in their rehabilitation.
