Former RSP general secretary K. Pankajakshan dead

Thiruvananthapuram: Former Revolutionary Socialist Party (RSP) general secretary and veteran Kerala politician K. Pankajakshan died at the Medical College hospital here Tuesday night, said family sources. He was 84.

Panjakshan is survived by his wife, two sons and one daughter.

A prominent figure in the state politics for more than half a century, he was a legislator from 1970 to 1991 without a break from the fourth Kerala assembly to the eighth assembly.

Panjakshan also served as minister in five Kerala cabinets.

His funeral will take place here Thursday evening.

“It’s a huge loss to the political spectrum,” said RSP’s present general secretary T.J. Chandrachoodan.
