Beijing : Seventeen people were killed Wednesday in a coal mine accident in southwest China’s Yunnan province, authorities said.
At 2.15 p.m. Wednesday, an accident of coal and gas outburst took place in a shaft of the Shangchang coal mine in Huangnihe township of Fuyuan, reported Xinhua,
Sixty-six miners were underground when the accident took place and 49 of them escaped from the mine, according to preliminary investigation.
