MSO felicitates meritorious Muslim Students in Bangalore

Bangalore: The Muslim Students Education & Welfare Organization (MSO) felicitated 150 meritorious Muslim students for scoring 90% and above marks in the Class X (SSLC) and Class XII (PUC) examinations held in 2012. The felicitation function was held on December 16, 2012.

The MSO, apart from its other activities aimed for bringing empowerment to the Muslims through education, has been felicitating meritorious students since 1993.



Dr. Nazeer Ahmed (Rank Nazeer), an eminent scientist, historian, inventor, educator and community leader who is presently the Executive Director of the World Organization for Resource Development and Education in USA was the Chief Guest. While addressing the gathering, he asked students to develop scientific spirit in them through an inquisitive approach under the light of the guidance provided in Quran and Ahadees.

He asked the students to not to become complacent by merely clearing the academic exams in merit but to continue the process of attaining knowledge throughout the life and excel in their respective chosen fields. The other dignitaries who graced the function as Guests of Honour were : Mr. Syed Tanveer Ahmed, Chief Editor, Monthly Karnataka Muslim; Prof. Azam Shahid, Professor of Economics, a poet and a columnist; Mr. Taj Mohammed Khan, Secretary, Rifaul Muslimeen, Mysore and Prof. Maher Mansoor, Retd. Official, Indian Postal Services who is a renowned translator and presently Professor of English, Al-Ameen College, Bangalore.



The awardee students were presented a Certificate of Appreciation and a Memento. A Souvenir on the “Importance of Education ” containing informative articles by eminent educationists was also released on the occasion.

Maulana Ashraf Ali Rashadi, Khateeb, Masjid-e-Meeraj, Bangalore presided over the function. Mr. Syed Shahid Ahmed, President, MSO received the dignitaries, Mr. Mohamed Ziaulla welcomed the guests and Mr. Asif Ali, Gen. Secretary, MSO conducted the programme as an anchor.

The function was attended by a large number of ulema, scholars, educationists, social activists, intellectuals, representatives of various schools and colleges, NGOs and parents of the awardees.
