Aden : A suicide bomber blew up a car outside the presidential palace in Yemen’s Hadramout province Saturday, killing at least 20 Republican Guards and injuring dozens of others, said a security official.
“The suicide bomber detonated the car outside the presidential palace in Al-Mukalla, the provincial capital of Hadramout,” Xinhua quoted the security official saying on condition of anonymity.
“Initial investigation shows that Al-Qaeda militants are behind the attack,” he added.
The attack occurred just several hours after President-elect Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi took the constitutional oath at the parliament, after a landmark vote this week initiated in a Gulf-brokered power transfer deal.
