Jamiat devoted towards Muslims, no eye on politics: Arshad Madani

Kolkata: Jamiat Ulema is completely devoted towards the community and its main objective is to serve ‘Kidmat’ to the people; Jamiat never so ever have aspired for a member of parliament or state assembly status, said Jamiat Ulema Hind’s President (Arshad Madani Group) Maulna Arshad Madani on an annual conference of Jamia Islamia Madinatul Uloom at Memari, Burdwan, West Bengal [WB] on 18th February.

Addressing a massive 50,000 audience he cited several examples to state that Muslims are not anti national; he said that they had to once fight for independence and now they are on their way struggling to attain the basic rights to live as a Muslim in this country. He claimed that it was Jamiat’s initiatives that helped in releasing around 100 innocent Muslims from the Malegaon blast cases and similar such cases within and out of the state.

He asked Muslims to keep away from their excess love towards ‘Duniya’ and he added that the community won’t be pardoned if they deprived others from their ‘Haq’. When the ‘Ayla’ storm devastated many villages of the Sunderban area, he said Jamiat had set up 2700 relief camps and provided food, clothing and tarpaulin to all, regardless of to which community they belonged.

Ex Vice-Chancellor of Darool Uloom Deoband Maulana Wastanvi, All India Personal Law Board member Maulana Ishak Madani, Md Ali from Africa, Imam from a mosque at Mecca, well renowned businessman and owner of Pataka Group, Mustak Hossain, Journalist Abdur Rauf, Ahmed Hassan Imran, Writer Mahiuddin Sarkar , Masiur Rahmanand and so many Islamic scholars & personalities were present for the annual function at Jamia Islamia Madinatul Uloom campus. Muslims from different districts of WB were present for the annual celebrations held at the Madrassa.

Jamia Islamia Madinatul Uloom of Memari was established by well renowned Bengali orator & historian Golam Ahmed Mortaja. Besides this religious study centre he has established a main stream High school named Mamoon National School. Students from the school performed poems and Gazal on the occasion. `Pratibha’- a school magazine by the students of Mamoon National School was released by Mustak Hossain. Kazi Md Yasin, secretary of Mamoon National School, coordinated the whole programme. The function continued till midnight.
