By TCN News,

Hyderabad: Popular Front of India (PFI) has demanded the Congress-led Andhra Pradesh government to remove Mr. V Dinesh Reddy from the post of Director General of Police (DGP) citing the “extensive influence exercised by communal and fascist elements of the police” since Mr. Reddy took charge of the top cop of the state.

PFI expressed “deep concern and anguish at the extensive influence exercised by communal and fascist elements of the police, since Mr. V Dinesh Reddy took charge as the top official of the state Police force. RSS and its allies have gone to the extent of denying the fundamental rights of minorities, attacking Muslim youths and creating communal tension, recently they have even desecrated the holy Quran.”

DGP recently met an Israeli delegation led by Ambassador Alon Ushpiz and discussed regarding the state issues, which is directly against the sovereignty of India. He is believed to have involved in illegal land deals as well. PFI asked the State Government to remove Mr. V Dinesh Reddy from the post of State Director General of Police [DGP] with immediate effect as he is found totally unfit to serve the people.

PFI made the demand at the end of the State General Assembly of its Andhra Pradesh unit held in Kurnool from 26-27 Feb 2012. The meeting was attended by the State Executive Council members and district & division leaders. PFI National Executive member Mr. Anees Ahmed was the chief guest while the meeting was chaired by PFI State President, Mr. Mohammed Arif Ahmed.

PFI also discussed 4% minority quota in Andhra Pradesh and minority welfare schemes of the state government.

“The reservation quota being given to Muslims in the Employment & Educational Institutions is only 4%, which is not sufficient to the population of Muslims in Andhra Pradesh,” said the PFI and demanded the state government to implement the recommendations of Justice Ranganath Misra Commission and give 10% quota to Muslims in this state.

It expressed dissatisfaction over the welfare works done by the Congress led State Government and observed that “it is confined only to some scholarship schemes.” PFI observed that the “State Government has shown its double standards towards the welfare & prosperity of Muslims and allotted only 0.34% quota in the State budget. They demanded the State Government to increase the budget for Muslim welfare & empowerment.”

It also demanded adequate compensation to the Muslim youths wrongly implicated in Mecca Masjid blast case. “State General Assembly (of PFI) condemned the inadequate compensation given by the State Government in the name of ‘Confidence building measures’ to the Muslim youth, falsely implicated in the Makkah Masjid blast cases, illegally detained, brutally tortured and arrested. SGA demanded the State Government to give adequate compensations & to withdraw all the cases against them,” said PFI in a press statement. It demanded the government to implement all the recommendations made by the ‘National Commission for Minorities’ with reference to this case.
