Panaji : The Goa Police are probing a suspected African drug peddlers’ nexus after a Ugandan national was caught from a Hyderabad rave party last week with a cocktail of narcotics, some of which was suspected to have been sourced from Goa.
Speaking to reporters at the state secretariat Wednesday, Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar said a team of Goa Police’s Anti Narcotics Cell (ANC) was in Hyderabad to collect and share information with their counterparts there.
“Our ANC team has gone to Hyderabad and they will come back with the reports soon,” Parrikar said, adding that the team would probe the Goa drug link.
Last week, police busted a rave party in Hyderabad’s Banjara Hills area and arrested a Ugandan drug peddler, who reportedly confessed to have sourced the drugs from a Nigerian drug dealer in Goa.
Hyderabad police also seized a cocktail of 14 gms of cocaine, 10 packets of LSD and MDMA (ecstacy) – all popular party drugs.
