Kainat Foundation organizes World Environment Day at Qatar

Doha, Qatar: Kainat Foundation organized World Environment Day celebration at Qatar Scientific Club on the theme of United Nation Environment Program (UNEP) ‘Green Economy: Does it include you’? on June 5, 2012.

The participating schools were Al-Yasmeen International School, Reyadh, K.S.A, Indian School Salalah, Oman, The central School, Dubai, UAE, Birla Public School, Doha Modern Indian School, DPS-Modern Indian School and MES Indian School, Doha-Qatar. The participants took part in ten different competitions related to awareness of protecting our fragile Environment and on spot Environmental Quiz and Exhibition was also organized at Qatar Scientific Club. The participants took part in power point presentation, photography, easy writing, pencil drawing, poster making, poem writing, creating slogans, toon talks, collage making, greeting cards and paintings on different issues in Junior, intermediate and senior categories.

The program started with recitation of Holy Quran by Mohammed Luqman, member of the Kaianat Foundation followed by welcome address by Sohaib Salim. Shakil Ahmed Kakvi, founder Chairman of Kainat Foundation stressed on the involvement of younger generation in awareness campaign and program of protecting environment. ‘Environment is our responsibility, share not to shift.‘




Nadir Abdul Salam sung a song on Environmental issues and he left the audience spellbound.

Chief Guest Anil Nautiyal, Embassy of India to Qatar praised the effort of Kainat Foundation for providing platform to younger generation to work for environmental issues. Guest of Honor Hassan Chougule congratulated young members of Kainat Foundation for organizing such a wonderful program and assured all support in for future endeavors. Guest of Honor M.S.Bukhari speaking on this occasion mentioned that these type of program should be organized regularly,it will provide opportunities to students to showcase their talents . Josy Jacob of Johnson Control, corporate sponsor of the event said that” we are glad to support Kainat Foundation as Social Corporate Responsibility and in future we will also join hands with Kainat Foundation in environmental activities’.

MES Indian School team played ANGLUNG, Eco-Friendly Bamboo made musical equipment from Indonesia ,which was highly appreciated by the audience . Herald Moras of Doha Bank stressed on not using plastic water bottles. Mrs.Raffath Jahan, Habeebun Nabi, Aqueel Ahmed, Anwar Jamal, Dr. Utsav Nandi and G.M Shafi Shariff expressed their views during prize distribution ceremony. Bibin G. Piter and Jasim Usmani presented their papers while inaugural key note address was delivered by Jonathan.

Talha Undru, Owais Ahmed, Amanat Solanky, Nabeel Mohammed ,Suhaim Ahmed and Amanat Solanky of Mission 20 announced prize winners. MES Indian school, Doha won over all trophy while The Central School Dubai got Green Trophy of the year. Aadhil P.M and Sonu Chullu B have provided technical support .

Program ended with national anthems of Qatar and India.
