New Delhi: Jamaat-e-Islami Hind has hailed the victory of Muslim Brotherhood in the Egyptian president election as historic and important political event of the time. Maulana Syed Jalaluddin Umari, President of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, has congratulated Muslim Brotherhood’s Mohammed Mursi for his victory in the presidential election whose results were announced Sunday evening.
Jamaat has termed victory of Muslim Brotherhood’s candidate in the presidential election as “the ultimate power of Almighty to change time and an important political event of today’s time.” The group, which finds itself ideologically closer to Muslim Brotherhood (Ikhwanul Muslimoon), has congratulated the newly elected president and Ikhwanul Muslimoon.
Maulana Jalaluddin Umri, in a statement today, termed the success of Ikhwan as “the result of the sacrifices of their founders and leaders Hasanul Banna and Syed Qutub, and thousands of men and women during 50 years of oppression and suppression.” Every member of Ikhwan and every citizen of Egypt deserve accolades for this, said Maulana Umri.
Maulan Umri said this success will not go down well with “anti-Muslim imperialist forces and Egypt’s neighboring Zionist nation Israel, so new government of Egypt should wisely prove through its internal and external policies that Islam is for welfare of whole mankind and it is a complete system of life.”
Jamaat leader urged the new president of Egypt to further strengthen his country’s relations with Asia’s strong country India. He also hoped India while realizing the ground realities will bring warmth in its relations with Arab and Muslim World.
