Reddy was first sent to CBI custody in Bangalore March 2 till Monday.

The CBI Monday produced Reddy before the additional civil and sessions court judge B.M. Angadi, who also functions as CBI special court judge, and sought his custody for four more days.

Claiming that CBI had not interrogated him in the last four days, Reddy sought bail which Angadi rejected.

Angadi also extended CBI custody of Reddy’s personal assistant Ali Khan till March 16.

The judge held the sitting in the Bangalore central prison complex, about 10 km east of city centre, as lawyers and media people had clashed March 2 when Reddy was produced in his court in the heart of the city.

The CBI has charged Reddy, his wife Lakshmi Aruna and 19 others with illegal mining in Karnataka by the Associated Mining Corp and Deccan Mining Syndicate owned by the Reddy couple.

Reddy is facing illegal mining case in neighbouring Andhra Pradesh also and has been in Hyderabad’s Chanchalaguda jail since Sep 5 till he was brought here for the first time March 2.
