New Delhi : India Tuesday asked Zimbabwe to ratify their Bilateral Investment Promotion and Protection Agreement that was signed in 1999.
During a meeting with Zimbabwean Vice President Joice Mujuru, here, Commerce and Industry Minister Anand Sharma said the early implementation of the deal will help increase investments.
India has already ratified the agreement.
Sharma said India has special interest in cooperation with Zimbabwe in sectors like mining, power generation, railway, information and communication technology and agriculture.
Bilateral trade between India and Zimbabwe has almost doubled in four years.
Trade between the two countries rose to $125 million in 2010-11 against $64.02 million recorded in 2006-07.
