Kolkata : Miffed over the steep rise in petrol prices, announced Wednesday, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said her Trinamool Congress would protest against the hike though it would not pull out of the central government.
“We are not pulling out but that does not mean we will not oppose the decision. The hike is unjust,” Banerjee said at an event here.
Petrol prices will rise between Rs.7.54 and Rs.7.98 per litre in the four metros following a base price hike of Rs.6.28 per litre exclusive of taxes, effective midnight, it was announced Wednesday.
