Criminal investigation department (CID) has decided to question Ganguly as he is the brand ambassador of ‘One card One nation’ project of Sai Kumar, who is according to CID, is the mastermind in siphoning off 56 crore amount from Vijaya Bank account of APMFC.

Sourav Gangualy and Andra IT Minister Ponnala Lakshmiah, along with Telugu cinema celebrities, launched the ‘One card One nation’project on August 26 in Novatel Hyderabad.

One card one nation project of main accused Sai Kumar was to embed all the features of different cardslike credit, debit, identity cards, and even driving license into one single card. Sai Kumar has used some portion of the APMFC amount in developing this project.

After Saikumar was arrested in the APFMC fraud case, police has received complaints from many businessmen who have made investments in the project.

Sai Kumar, in police custody, has reportedly claimed that Ganugualy was paid 80 lakh through check and 20 lakh in cash for launching the project and for becoming its brand ambassador. He also claimed that other celebrities from Telugu film industry have also been paid money.

CID is reportedly going to issue a notice to former Indian cricket team captain to present before the agency to record his statement, and to give further details of the nature of the contract with Sai Kumar.

CID is planning to record Gangualy’s statement as a witness in the case, as the 80 lakh amount was paid to him directly from Sai Kumar’s company’s bank account.

CID does not appear enthusiastic in retrieving the siphoned amount of APMFC as during the investigation it has been revealed that half of the amount acquired by fraud was paid to clear the debts.
