This book was mentioned in historical narrations but not available. Fortunately a manuscript of this book “Rajvinodam evam Mahmud Surtran Charitram” was in Pune Library. Shah Wajihuddin Academy, Ahmedabad intended to translate this Sanskrit poem in Gujarati. Well-known Gandhian scholar of Gujarat Dr. Bhartiben Shelat translated it into Gujarati and Dr. Zuber Qureshi into Urdu.

Now this book “Raj Vinod Mahakavya” has been published by the academy the original Sanskrit shlokas with Gujarati and Urdu translation. Uday Raj has compared Mahmud with Hindu gods and goddesses in many shlokas. Thus a Hindu poet of that age witnesses of justice of a Muslim king.

Thia book was released by Ramayan’s eminant scholar and lecturer (Kathaakar) Morari Bapu, eminent aalims Maulana Iqbal Husen Bokda and Maulana Abdul Ahad Tarapuri on Saturday Nov 17th at Town Hall in Ahmadabad.

On this occasion Morari Bapu told people to follow values of Quran and Geeta to create environment of communal harmony. Maulana Iqbal Husen said that let’s discard the history written by English authors on the principle of ‘Divide and Rule’ and to present true history from historical sources like this book does.

The book can be purchased from Shah Wajihuddin Academy, Sarkhez Roza, Ahmadabad.
