Islamabad : Pakistan Wednesday successfully launched ballistic missile Hatf V (Ghauri), which is capable of carrying nuclear warheads, the military said.
The Hatf V (Ghauri) is a liquid fuel missile that can also carry conventional warheads over a distance of 1,300 km, Xinhua quoted the army as saying in a statement.
The test consolidates and strengthens Pakistan’s deterrence capability and national security, it said.
The launch was conducted by the Strategic Missile Group of the Army Strategic Force Command after the culmination of a field training exercise aimed at testing the operational readiness of the army.
