Skydrivers collide mid-air, one killed

London : A skydriver died and the other was seriously injured after both collided in mid-air just 50 feet from the ground.

The accident caused their parachutes to collapse as they came close to touchdown at Sibson airfield in Peterborough city, Cambridgeshire. The accident occurred Saturday afternoon.

A man in his 50s was declared dead at the scene and a second man, in his 20s, was taken by air ambulance to a hospital in Cambridge with severe spinal and lower leg injuries.

The dead man was reportedly from London and the wounded man is said to be French.
