New Delhi : Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Praful Patel Tuesday said that Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and party leader Ajit Pawar’s resignation will not affect its coalition government with the Congress in the state.
“NCP is not going to destablise the government and will continue to support the government in the state,” Patel told reporters, but alleged there was a conspiracy against NCP leaders in the state.
“NCP has made it clear that people should know the truth and we want the state government to bring out a white paper on the irrigation scam as soon as possible,” he said.
Pawar, nephew of NCP chief and union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar, tendered his resignation Tuesday, facing allegations of involvement in an irrigation department “scam”.
“A campaign is being run against NCP leaders by some supporters and opposition members. Ajit Pawar’s decision is not a formality but a decision taken after lot of consideration for we want truth should come in front of everyone,” Patel said.
