“I am homeless too, but I am happy because other people take care of me, help me, and I realise the world is my home. You should also not lose hope, and feel happy about the fact the world is your home,” he said while addressing children, their parents and others at Ummeed Sneh Ghar, a children’s home here.

“I am extremely happy to come here, and meet young children. Being homeless is a very difficult situation, but I am happy to see you all have found a home where not only you get food, but also education,” he said.

Speaking at an event organised by Aman Biradari, a people’s campaign for secularism, justice and caring, the Tibetan leader further said there should be a self of oneness in the world.

“There is a need for people to realise the entire humanity is one family. If people realise that, then we will have no fights and no space for hatred to brew,” he said.

Urging students to study, the Dalai Lama said it is essential to have faith in oneself and never feel alone.

“Children should attain the highest level of education and believe in themselves irrespective of the situation they are in. One should keep their hope and determination alive, and believe they can do anything,” he said.
