“Youths like you should keep working hard to contribute to the democratic institutions in a peace manner in order to achieve the goal of getting government jobs,” said Maulana Siddiqullah Chowdhury addressing the successful youths who are waiting for their final lists of selected candidates for the constable post of West Bengal Police Department.

While citing the grim state of affairs in Muslim representation in government jobs he said, “In 2009 recruitment examination for constable post of Kolkata Police, 2795 Muslims had qualified but till now only 1401 persons have made it to services. Rests of them are still in the waiting list for the last 4 years. They are hoping to be recruited soon by the Mamata Banerjee government and receive appointment letter as soon as possible.”

“AIUDF is here to help these youths and to create a movement against the silence of the government,” he said. He advised the Muslim youths present there to send a memorandum to the Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee who is currently overlooking the Ministry of state police department.

While claiming to make an appeal of the same to the CM he said, “According to Sachar Committee Report, Muslims of West Bengal lag behind other states when it comes to government jobs hence qualified and deserving Muslim youths should get the jobs of police constable.”

Questioning WB chief minister’s commitment towards Muslim causes he asked, “Why Muslim youth recruitment in police constable is still pending. If she wants to do something for Muslims, she should take necessary initiative of appointing them as constables. Her failure will lead Muslim to disbelieve in her claims.”

More than 200 Muslims hailing from 15 Muslim concentrated district of Bengal have been affected. In the meeting, AIUDF assured them to assist any kind of help to fulfill their needs and getting appointments as soon as possible.
