Chennai: The “Islamic Forum for the Promotion of Moderate Thought” has strongly condemned the horrific bomb blasts that shook Hyderabad on Thursday and commiserates with those who have lost their loved ones or have been injured in the carnage. The Forum suspects, given the regularity with which terrorists are able to strike targets within our country, that there is some sinister force at work to not only disturb communal harmony but also destabilise India with a view to undermine its progress as a responsible international power.
The Forum is of the view that during times of national crises political parties must explore ways to work together and present a united front to defeat the diabolical designs of the enemies of our nation.
The Forum urges fellow Indians to stand united as ever and not to succumb to any disinformation campaign that may be mounted by vested interests in the wake of the Hyderabad blasts to drive a wedge between communities in the name of religion. In this context, the media must play the positive role of the unifier and play down attempts to hurl unsubstantiated allegations against any particular community or religion.
The Forum also calls up on the Government of India to conduct a thorough investigation into this dastardly act of terror and bring its perpetrators and as well as the masterminds behind it to justice.
