Nepali cook held for murdering sister, husband

New Delhi : A Nepali cook was arrested here for murdering his cousin and her husband in their house and escaping with Rs.1 lakh and jewellery, said police Thursday.

Som Bahadur Gaha alias Soman was arrested Wednesday night from New Delhi Railway Station while he was about to board a train to Pune, police said.

Gaha killed his cousin Pavitra and her husband Ram Bahadur Thapa Feb 14 when she refused his request for financial help, said a police officer.

The decomposed bodies of the Nepali couple were recovered from their rented house in south Delhi’s Govindpuri Feb 26, police said.

Gaha, who had been living at his sister’s house for one year, strangled Pavitra and her husband with a rope and escaped with the valuables, police said.

The accused came to Delhi 13 years ago and worked as a cook at a house in C.R. Park earlier. About one year ago, he changed his occupation, police said.
