Hyderabad: Barely a day has passed since the arrest of Majlis MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi that there is a report of a new hate speech by Swami Kamalanand Bharthi of Hindu Rakshana Vedika.
The speech against Muslims was given on January 6, 2013 at a public meeting in Hyderabad and the video is available on YouTube.
In a statement issued today a group of eminent personalities have condemned this new hate speech video and urged the government to “take immediate and exemplary action against all those indulging in hate speeches or acts of violence, irrespective of the community to which they belong or how high a position or following they enjoy to prevent further communalisation and put an end to unwarranted conflicts and violence to ensure safety of common people, especially the poor, peace in society and progress of the country.”
“We also demand that any such action should be just and proportionate and not be targeting any particular community or individuals and not appear to be vindictive or one sided. If impartial, proportionate and just action is not taken equally against all involved, irrespective of the community to which they belong then the members of the targeted community feel victimized leading to alienations and increase in communalisation and conflicts. If the government does not take strict, proper and prompt action it will be directly and totally responsible for furthering the communal divide and all the resultant conflicts and violence.”
“Finally it is time people of all communities realise that they will suffer untold hardship including death of their dear ones and destruction of their properties if they do not see through these deliberate plots of politicians to divide society for petty electoral gains. Hence we urge common people not to fall easy prey to the divisive and violent games of politicians and work for promoting harmony and peace in society that alone is in the interest of the people and the country.”
