Social justice is the responsibility of the District Administration: K. Rahman Khan

New Delhi: Visiting Mewat district of Haryana, Minister of Minority Affairs said that it is the responsibility of the District Administration to give social justice to the people of the district. “he district administration should help people to translate their aspirations and needs into proposals to be sent to Centre,” said Mr. Khan. He also urged to ensure education to all children as education is the only way to progress.

The delegation of the Consultative Committee, Ministry of Minority Affairs led by the Minister of Minority Affairs K Rahman Khan visited Mewat District of Haryana yesterday for reviewing the schemes for the welfare of minorities.

During the visit delegation interacted with Sarpanchs, Members of Zila Parishads, educationists, social workers, bank officials and other administrative officers of the district at Nuh ,Mewat. The senior officers of the Ministry of Minority Affairs shared information with the gathering regarding various schemes of the central government being implemented for the benefit and progress of minorities.

The other member of the Committee Shri Ali Anwar said that fund earmarked for the minority’s schemes should not be used for regular developmental projects, referring to the practice of using minority affairs funds for plans and projects that do no necessarily affect minorities.

The delegation of the Consultative Committee also visited Mewat Engineering College established by Haryana Wakf Board, construction sites of residential schools for girls at Khanpur Ghati and another residential school at Madhi.

Mewat is one of the 90 Districts identified as Minority Concentration Districts(MCDs) in the country.
