New Delhi : Indian Air Force chief N.A.K. Browne Sunday left on a four-day official visit to South Korea to discuss defence cooperation between the two countries and expansion of ties.
Air Chief Marshal Browne is leading a composite delegation, comprising officers from the three services, an official release said.
During the visit, the IAF chief is scheduled to call on South Korean Defence Minister Kim Kwan-jin.
He would also be meeting the chairman of Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS), Gen. Jung Seung-jo, Air Force’s Chief of Staff Gen. Sung Il-hwan, and Navy’s Second Fleet commander Rear Admiral Jung Jin-seob.
Air Chief Marshal Browne would also visit the second fleet command located at Pyeongtaek, the Air Force Academy located at Cheongju, Chungbuk and the 17th Fighter Wing based at Cheongju, Daegu.
“He is likely to discuss a wide range of bilateral issues on the ongoing defence cooperation between the two countries towards expanding the bilateral defence ties,” the release said.
Officials said the IAF chief earlier postponed his visit by a week to oversee the IAF’s rescue and relief operations in Uttarakhand.
