Mexico City: Rafael Nadal advanced to the final of Acapulco tennis event after a straight-set win over compatriot Nicolas Almagro.
Nadal beat Almagro 7-5, 6-4 in one hour and 49 minutes Friday to set up a final clash against three-time defending champion David Ferrer, who toiled hard to defeat Italian Fabio Fognini 6-3, 6-7 (5-7), 6-1 in two hours and 23 minutes, reports Xinhua.
Ferrer has won 19 straight matches in this event and Sunday will be aiming for his third title already in 2013.
