On March 1, the suspects and their two accomplices abducted a young man from his car, after setting up a car accident.

The attackers beat him and took him to a private house. They later contacted his father and offered to free his son for a $5 million ransom.

“Cadets found guilty in the case will be expelled from the university and dismissed from the interior ministry’s service,” the ministry said. An investigation has been launched.

The abducted young man has been freed, while police said they seized non-lethal weapons, electric shockers and masks.
