‘Azmat-e-Sahaba’ conference of Imam of Masjid-e-Nabavi in Kolkata postponed

Kolkata: Due to hot weather ‘Azmat-e-Sahaba’ conference, scheduled to be held on May 10, 2013 at the Brigade Parade Ground in the state capital, has been postponed informed a member of the Central Working Committee of Jamiat Ulama e Hind (Arshad Madani Group), Maulana Asjad Madani on behalf of the organizers in a press release along with local organizer Qari Samsuddin Ahmed.

Dr. Sheikh Mohsin Qasim, Imam of Masjid-e-Nabavi in Madinah, Saudi Arabia was supposed to attend the conference.

Qari Samsuddin Ahmed told TCN on 3 May, 2013 that after a discussion with the All India President of Jamiat Ulama, Maulana Arshad Madani a decision was finally taken to cancel the Kolkata visit of Dr. Sheikh Mohsin Qasim, Imam of Masjid-e-Nabavi.

Source said, on 1 May, 2013 a meeting was held regarding Kolkata tours of Dr. Sheikh Mohsin Qasim, at the Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Delhi between Saudi officials and Jamiat leaders in presence of a Union Minister. It was decided that around the scheduled time Kolkata would be too hot (38-40 degrees Celsius) and some from the expected participating crowd might fall sick. Jamiat was targeting participation of more than 5-6 lac people from all of eastern India.

Qari Samsuddin told TCN that, Jamiat had completed all the procedure of ‘Azmat-e-Sahaba’ conference and Saudi officials had got consent of King of Saudi Arabia regarding the Kolkata Conference.

Jamiat sources said that even a suit was booked for Dr. Sheikh Mohsin Qasim in a five start hotel and a special arrangement of chartered flight was made for him.

Qari Samsuddin said that Dr. Sheikh Mohsin Qasim will come in November later this year for the ‘Azmat-e-Sahaba’ conference in Kolkata.
