Aligarh: Apart of being two time president of the Congress Maulana Azad were a great educationist, thinker, intellectual, writer and humanist said Prof. Razaullah Khan while chairing a seminar held by the Millat Bedari Muhim Committee (MBMC), Aligarh and The Aligarh Movement monthly magazine At the Media Centre Aligarh to celebrate 125th birth anniversary of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad.
He further added that Maulana Azad was a single politician of that time who opposed division of India and renowned adamant on Hindu Muslim unity.

Editor of The Aligarh Movement magazine Jasim Mohammad said that though the Indian government has released coins, stamps and even portal in carry message of Maulana to masses. He pointed out that the Maulana Azad Education Foundation (MAEF) working under the Union Minority Affairs ministry has not released funds to the NGOs for holding memorial programmes in honour of Maulana Azad.
He questioned, “Is this justice with Maulana Azad? Jasim Mohammad alleged that the Congress has always ignored contribution of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad though he was symbol of national unity.
Jasim Mohammad said that Maulana Azad had given new mile stones to the politics of the nation and his contribution needs exhaustive ‘Maulana Azad Chair’ in the Universities. Prof. Humayun Murad said that Cabinet Mission had accepted the proposal of Maulana Azad but Congress leaders had failed to accept it. If that proposal could have been accepted than partition of India many not have taken place.
N. Jamal Ansari said that Maulana Azad served the nation as journalist and writer too which is being forgotten. Thinking and views of Maulana Azad are much importance in today’s socio-political scenario and so they must be popularize among masses.
In the end of seminar a resolution was passed unanimously demanding that the India government should establish ‘Maulana Azad Chair’ in each university in the interest of nation and national unity.
