The party’s yatra (journey) is named after its election symbol, the broom (jhadu).

The party’s candidates Baljeet Singh Maan of Narela, and Gajananand of Bawana, met people in the many villages that fall in these two constituencies.

The AAP yatra has now covered 14 of Delhi’s 70 assembly constituencies. The 22-day yatra is set to conclude Dec 1.

The Aam Aadmi Party Thursday also announced that it would field Ishrat Ali Ansari, 63, from the Krishna Nagar assembly constituency in east Delhi.

Ansari has in the past championed the cause of weavers, and raised issues faced by labourers employed in beedi-manufacturing units in Uttar Pradesh. He has contested Lok Sabha elections three times in the past.

He also spent 19 months in jail during the Emergency in 1975.
