Chinese president leaves for Indonesia, Malaysia, APEC meet

    Beijing: Chinese President Xi Jinping left Beijing Wednesday morning for state visits to Indonesia, Malaysia, and to attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) meet.

    He has been invited by Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and Malaysian Supreme Head of State Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah respectively for state visits, Xinhua reported Wednesday.

    Xi’s entourage includes his wife Peng Liyuan; Wang Huning, member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and director of the Policy Research Office of the CPC Central Committee; Li Zhanshu, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee and director of the General Office of the CPC Central Committee; and State Councilor Yang Jiechi.     The 21st APEC leaders’ meeting is scheduled to be held in Bali, an island and province in Indonesia.
