Rihai Manch writes to NCM Chairman on Muzaffarnagar riots, helps in filing another FIR

    Muzaffarnagar: Civil Society group Rihai Manch facilitated in filing another FIR in a case related to the murder of Aamir during the last month’s Muzaffarnagar riots. Few days back they also wrote a letter to the Chairman of the National Commission for Minorities.

    According to the FIR, the victim Aamir Khan, a resident of Bagpat was killed on September 12 and forcibly buried by the Jat mob, and his family was taken hostage on the charge that Aamir had taken 80 thousand rupees and hence they would be released only after the payment.

    Gulistan, widow of Aamir, and his brothers in the complaint to the police, alleged that they family members had to make calls to relatives to arrange the money, and that they could escape only after the payment of money on September 30.

    The complaints have even named their alleged hostages, Sanjeev and his father Jagbeera and others from the village, including the village head Satpal Singh.

    The victim’s family is currently residing in village Jaula in Muzaffarnagar under Budhana Police station, where they have filed the complaint.

    Shahnawaz Alam, spokesperson of Rihai Manch, helped the family file FIR. The complainants have demanded that the dead body should be exhumed and postmortem conducted.

    Rihai Manch had earlier written to the UP Police and urged them to file FIRs in cases of murder, arson, rape, etc. in the Muzaffarnagar riot. Rihai Manch spokesperson Rajeev Yadav had written to Officer in Charge of the Fugana Police Station in Mzuaffarnagar urging him to file case for the murder of Mehardeen son of Rafeeq in the village Dungar under Phugana police station on 8th September.

    Rihai Manch had earlier also written to the Chairman of the National Commission for Minorities updating about the ground realities, and urging him to demand for a CBI enquiry into the incidents of riot and to press for timely compensation and rehabilitation.
