Hyderabad: Indian Army Jawan Lance Naik Mohammed Feroz Khan who was killed on Line of Control (LoC) due to heavy Pakistani army firing has given state funeral at his home in Hyderabad.
Lance Naik Mohammed Feroz Khan of Madras Regiment was martyred in the line of duty at Balakote sector in Mendhar Tehsil of Poonch at Jammu on October 14 at 5:30 pm official report on his death came only on 15 October.

According to official statement of Army Feroz Khan was killed in mortar shelling firing from Pakistani side of LOC at Balakote were firing exchange was going on since that morning. Other six army officers were also injured on the same day.
31 year old Feroz Khan was the resident of Nawab Saheb Kunta in old Hyderabad and was serving in the Indian Army for past 15 years. He was married and had three children including 8 month old baby girl, and three unmarried sisters. His father Jaffer Khan is also an ex-service man.
Defenec spokesperson stated that Feroz Khan was offered leave on the occasion of Eid but he declined to accept the leave due to increasing tensions in his sector.
His family members speaking with media said that he telephoned his wife two days back and told her that he can’t be home for Bakreid due to rising tension at the border. His family said Feroz Khan left for Jammu border after Ramzan promising to return back before Bakreid.
His body was brought to Hyderabad in a special flight on Shamshabad Airport where Army personnel paid him floral tribute. His relatives along with State Minorities Commission Chairman Abid Rasool Khan on behalf of the state received the body at airport and laid the wreath. From the airport hundreds of youths took out a procession till his house rising slogans against Pakistan.
Many politicians and dignitaries visited the house of martryed Feroz Khan to pay their last respects, including Majlis-e-Itehhadul Mslimeen president and Hyderabad M.P. Asaduddin Owaisi who met the family members to render his party’s sympathy with them. Mr. Owaisi stated that the best tribute to Feroz Khan will be to always remember his widow and orphan children.
Majlis Bacho Tehreek leader Amjedullah Khan who also met the family members of Feroz Khan demanded an ex gratia, agricultural land and a government job for the family members of slain solider.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy also expressed his grief and anguish on Feroz Khan’s killing, and assured all possible help to the slain solder’s family.
Many people from different parts of city formed a queue outside his house including some of his army colleagues to have a last look of the hero.
Martyred Feroz Khan Namaz-e-Janaza was offered after Zohar Prayer on Thursday afternoon by hundreds of supporters near his house at Masjid-e-Saleheen, Saleheen Nagar, he was buried with all the state honour.
