“The execution of the two Iranian women in Malaysia will have a negative impact on the bilateral relations,” Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Consular, Parliamentary and Iranian Expatriates’ Affairs Hassan Qashqavi was quoted as saying, reports Xinhua.

Malaysia should avoid carrying out the executions so that the cordial relationship between the two countries can continue, Qashqavi added.

Reportedly, the two Iranian women were sentenced to death over an attempt to smuggle illicit drugs into Malaysia in December 2010.
