Rehab India Foundation inaugurates MSW scholarship

    New Delhi: Chairman of Rehab India Foundation, E. Aboobacker formally inaugurated the second batch of MSW Scholarship Programme sponsored by Rehab India Foundation on Tuesday, September 2.

    During the ceremony, Aboobacker said, “It is a participatory approach of development by selecting students from villages where the rehab projects exists. As a social worker commitment and sacrifice are the important things which students have to keep throughout the study and their profession in future.”



    Referring the verses of holy scripts he said, “It is a duty of every believer to give their own contribution and service to the society and giving services to the needy and poor people is same as to sacrifice one’s body in means of God.”

    Discussing the importance of the course, Afsel Chandrankandy, General Secretery of Rehab India Foundation said, “The student’s internship in Rehab projects is an opportunity to them to contribute their own share to the community by aware them about different scholarship programs and schemes. The ignorance of government schemes and programmes makes laps of crores of rupees for the minorities and poor in the country. By the efforts of a group of committed students can ensure benefits of lacks of rupees by government schemes to poor and deprived people in the country.”

    Encouraging the students, he added, “Every student will try to get maximum knowledge and will become masters in their interested areas and work with other NGOs and government departments for the total empowerment of the communities. Rehab will provide its full support to the students.”

    Muhammed Jabir M M, Coordinator of MSW Programme at the Rehab India Foundation explained about features of MSW scholarship programme at length which will offer best practices of community intervention program at grass root level for the development of the needy people in the country. He reviewed the last year activities and programs of the students and the achievement of the course. He provided brief introduction on the academic subjects and field work.

    Mr. Amanathulah Khan, Research scholar, Delhi University delivered a lecture on the practice and methods of social work. He said that research is one of the best tool for the community intervention and skills in research should be improved by every social work students.
