Aligarh: The Aligarh Muslim University Students’ Union (AMUSU) will organize a convention ‘State Excesses on Innocent Citizens’ tomorrow, December 11.
The event is aimed at sensitizing the students on the criminalization and victimization of innocent citizens through state agencies.
Fawwaz Shaheen, a student of Law at AMU, said: “The campaign has been initiated to create a strong resistance movement against the grave injustice. The chief guest of the programme is Abdul Mubeen, an AMU alumnus, who was also a victim of such injustice and just this year has been acquitted and proved innocent of all charges.”
Other important speakers at the event include Khaleequzzaman, Wasif Haidar, Matiur Rahmaan, who were all victims of the same unfairness, but subsequently acquitted from all terror charges, a release said, adding, the aim of AMUSU is to bring all these resistance movements struggling against various forms of state excesses, on a common platform and prepare the roadmap for future.
