Aligarh: Justice (Retd.) Rajendra Sacchar, Chairman Sachar committee that assessed the socio-political conditions of Muslims, will be the Chief Guest at an ‘international seminar’ to be held at the Aligarh Muslim University on February 27.
The conference has been convened by Sir Syed Minority Foundation of India, a group pushing for the minority status of the University. The programme is scheduled to be held at the famous Kennedy Auditorium of the University.
According to Md. Perwez Siddiqui, president of the foundation, Justice Sachar will be will be suggesting legal rudiments to fight for the restoration of minority character of the AMU.
The programme shall be presided by Vice chancellor Lt.Gen (Retd.) Zamiruddin Shah. Several senior lawyers, academics, journalists and activists are expected to attend the programme.
