New Delhi : Egypt’s flasgship carrier Egypt Air will launch direct flights to New Delhi to meet the increasing tourist influx from India.
According to a new agreement, Egypt Air, which currently operates four flights a week between Cairo and Mumbai, would now fly a total of seven weekly flights to India with the addition of three flights between Cairo and New Delhi, an Egyptian embassy statement said Monday.
The move is part of Egypt’s plan to open new tourism markets in countries such as India and China.
The partnership between Egypt and India involves the coordination of tourism events such as exhibitions, caravans and festivals in both countries.
In April, Egypt hosted the ‘India by the Nile’ festival for the second consecutive year.
The multi-disciplinary festival, showcasing India’s arts and culture, was held in various Egyptian cities between April 1 and April 20.
