Cabinet discusses train accident, sabotage angle

New Delhi : The union cabinet Wednesday discussed the Delhi-Dibrugarh Rajdhani Express accident in Bihar, Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said.

Expressing grief over the accident, the cabinet also discussed the sabotage angle in the accident. However, Prasad refused to make any comment saying they are waiting for Railway Minister D.V. Sadananda Gowda to return from the accident site.

“The cabinet discussed the railway accident… Prime Minister Narendra Modi raised the issue, and whole cabinet expressed grief and concern over it,” Prasad said briefing the media after a cabinet meet.

“A sabotage angle to the accident, and other issues were discussed. The railway minister has gone to visit the accident site, we are waiting for him to come back before we can make an official comment,” he added.

At least five people were killed and 13 others injured when the Delhi-Dibrugarh Rajdhani Express derailed near Chhapra in Bihar early Wednesday.
