The AJSU is headed by former state deputy chief minister Sudesh Mahto.

Yadav said six of the eight seats to be fought by the AJSU have been identified and the remaining two will be announced after further consultations.

He said the agreement was important and the party will register a massive victory in alliance with the AJSU. He said the BJP will form a full majority government in the state.

The BJP’s alliance with AJSU has come after the party decided to go it alone in Haryana. In Maharashtra, the BJP’s talks with Shiv Sena broke down close to the assembly elections.

Jharkhand will go for five-phase polls from Nov 25 to Dec 20 and counting of votes will take place Dec 23.
