New Delhi : Describing Delhi Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung as a “BJP agent”, Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal Wednesday sought an all-party meet to decide the government formation in the national capital.
“LG (lieutenant governor) says he will call all-party meeting in ‘next few days’? Why next few days? To seek adjournment in SC (Supreme Court) tomorrow (Thursday)?” the former Delhi chief minister asked in a tweet.
His reaction came after Jung said Wednesday that he would explore options on government formation in the next few days.
Kejriwal said: “We demand that the LG should call all-party meeting today (Wednesday) itself, take final decision by evening and inform the Supreme Court tomorrow (Thursday) accordingly.”
While talking to a television news channel, Kejriwal called Jung an “agent of BJP” and accused him of delaying the process of government formation in Delhi.
“We are a democracy, there should be elected government. The LG should try to have an elected government at earliest.”
“On BJP’s instruction, he is delaying. Earlier, he said he would call BJP and now he is saying he will invite all-party. They basically want to surpass the SC hearing,” he said.
The Supreme Court Tuesday rapped the BJP-led central government over the tactics to delay government formation in the national capital, which has been under the President’s Rule since Feb 17.
