Thiruvananthapuram : Bahrain-based VKL Group Tuesday announced an investment of Rs.2,000 crore in real estate and hospitality sectors in Kerala.
For this, the parent company has floated VKL Builders India Pvt. Ltd. to spearhead its Kerala operations, Group CMD Varghese Kurian told reporters here.
He said Chief Minister Oommen Chandy will launch two new housing projects in the capital city Wednesday.
VKL group has formidable presence in the Middle East in sectors across hospitality, education, healthcare, contracting and dredging.
“The projects include housing, educational institutions, specialty hospitals, hotels, shopping malls, ayurveda resorts across the state which we shall ensure completion in a time bound manner,” said Kurian.
The group has always been in the forefront when it comes to charity and will present a cheque to Chandy of Rs.2 crore as the group’s contribution to the Chief Minister’s home for the homeless scheme which will be implemented by the Kerala State Housing Board.
Apart from the real estate projects the group is planning a state-of-the-art Global Ayurvedic Village in Alappuzha.
