There were around 40,000 applicants for overall 350 B.Tech seats in various branches of engineering and over 6000 applicants for 50 BDS seats. Over 75% applicants appeared for the B.Tech re-test today and over 80% applicants took the BDS examination on June 25, 2015. Both the tests took place at all the notified test centres in a very fair and peaceful atmosphere.

Earlier, the University was forced to cancel the engineering entrance test conducted and postpone the BDS entrance after allegations of paper leak. A preliminary enquiry based on the details available, had hinted at the possibility of a breach in the examination system.

In a statement on Saturday, Jamia said, “The university administration has shown determination to stamp out any trace of irregularity in order to uphold the sanctity of the examination process. Processor Talat Ahmad, Vice- Chancellor , Jamia Millia Islamia randomly visited examination centres at Rohini and Pitampura in North West Delhi and at Moti Bagh in New Delhi District today.”
