New Delhi : Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi on Monday condoled the death of prominent journalist and writer Vinod Mehta.
In his condolence message, Gandhi said he was “extremely saddened” at the passing away of Mehta.
“A fearless and independent voice, he will be remembered for his courage of conviction… his demise will leave a vacuum in Indian journalism that will be hard to fill. My condolences to his family and loved ones,” he said.
The 73-year-old Mehta died of multi-organ failure on Sunday at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) here. He had been bed-ridden for the past three-four months and was admitted to AIIMS in a critical state last week.
