Srinagar: A young innovator from Kashmir, who has been selected for the Technological Transfer Programme 2015 at Israel, is running from pillar to post for renewal of his passport.
Mirza Mohammad Idrees-ul-Haq Beigh claimed he had applied for renewal of his passport on November 21, 2014 (vide file number SG01C4001051614). “The passport has not been issued till date. Online track status of my passport shows ‘Application is under review at Regional passport office Srinagar’,” Beigh told media persons here on Friday.

Beigh has earlier represented India in the capacity of vice chairman Bharat Scouts and Guides at Islamabad, Pakistan and has made several innovations in the last six years. His innovations include Solar Kangri (Fire- pot), self-charging mobile phone, SMS based non-conventional Water Pump, SMS based non-conventional geothermal-based air conditioning system , aroma transfer device and several other innovations, but he has always faced both official as well as government apathy as government turns deaf ear towards all his innovation. He has also claimed that the government had neither provided any logistic nor financial support.
He said that all his verifications were completed in January 2015. Questioning the undue delay, he claimed he found no trace of his passport on visiting the regional passport office. He also claimed that the CID office and local police station, both have sent all his verification on time.
“Usually it takes only two months, but in my case it is the fourth month and still they aren’t issuing my passport. Interestingly my mother and I submitted our documents together on November 21, 2014 and she received her passport on January 1.”
“I have also lodged my grievance online with Service Request number (SRN – 1530307178) but my passport is yet to reach me,” he said.
The J&K Science and technology council had also recommended me for 50% sponsorship for the event. But it will go waste if passport is not issued to me on time,” said Idrees Beigh.
He has urged the Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed to issue necessary directions to the agencies concerned for speedy disposal of his passport to avail the opportunity of joining Technological Transfer Programme at Israel.
None of the government authorities were ready to comment on Beigh’s issue.
