Women’s College at AMU organises Annual Mushaira

Aligarh : Poets from all over India recently gathered in Aligarh Muslim University’s Women’s College for the Annual Mushaira, which was inaugurated by AMU Pro Chancellor, Nawab Ibne Saeed Khan of Chattari and attended by AMU Vice Chancellor, Lt General Zameer Uddin Shah (Veteran) as the Chief Guest.

Prominent poets from all over the country including Azhar Inayati, Vaquar Manvi, Alam Khursheed, Popular Meeruthi, Jameel Manvi, Salma Shaheen, Azra Naqvi, Shehla Nawab, Mohid Rasheedi, Gulam Sarwar, Abid Ali Abid and Zoya Zaidi recited the poetic compositions crafted in their literary expertise.

During his address, General Shah appreciated the efforts of Women’s College for continuing the tradition of organising the Annual Mushaira. He said, “Urdu is not a language of Hindus or Muslims but a language of heart and Love”.

On this occasion, Sabiha Simi Shah, Mohd Gulrez, Abul Kalam Qasmi, Anwar Jahan Zuberi and Haneefa Khursheed also graced the occasion.

Naima Gulrez, Principal, Women’s College; Durdana Qasmi, Convener; Durdana Qasmi and Humaira Afridi played a significant role in the organization of Mushaira. Vaquar Manvi chaired the Mushaira and Shariq Aqueel conducted the proceedings.
