AMU constitutes committee to submit report on Mannan Wani’s activities

Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) has constituted a two-member committee to prepare a report on the conduct of expelled geology Ph.D. student, Mannan Bashir Wani and it has also resolved to keep a strict vigil in halls of residences.

A committee has been constituted by the AMU Vice Chancellor, Professor Tariq Mansoor to submit a report on the activities of Mannan Bashir Wani within a week. “Prof S H Arif is the chairman of the committee with Prof Kamlesh Chandra as a member.”

Meanwhile, Prof Md Saghir Khan (Officiating Dean Students’ Welfare) said that the provosts and wardens of various halls of residences are making frequent rounds till late hours for keeping a watch at their respective halls. He added that the no unauthorized persons will be allowed to enter in the halls.

 

“Students will only be allowed to enter halls after producing valid AMU ID cards issued by the Office of Dean Students’ Welfare,” said officiating DSW adding that no vehicle will be allowed to enter in premises of residential halls as students and staff have been asked to park their vehicles at designated places.

 

He further said that provosts of various halls are ensuring that every room is occupied by legal residents and CCTV cameras are in working conditions. “Students have also been asked to refrain from interacting with unauthorized persons,” said the officiating DSW.
